Dissertation Small Group Coaching Program
The response to my survey was quite good, and many of you are interested in a dissertation small group coaching program. I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts around this topic.
Based on the feedback I received, I’m offering a beta version of the Dissertation Proposal Push- a small group coaching program. Here are the details:
You will get the most benefit from this group if you are completing a research project with either a quantitative or qualitative focus. This means you must be completing a project where you are collecting data (or using data) from a group of human subjects, as we will be focusing on the specifics of hypothesis statements, subject description and instrumentation, as well as focused literature review. This group would not be a good fit for those of you in the humanities who are doing qualitative analysis of historical data or facts. The reason for defining the group in this way is because there is a slightly different process to work through projects in the Humanities.
Group will be limited to 10 people maximum.
Every member of the group will be required to show progress in order to continue on to the next month.
Every member of the group will agree to be respectful and courteous to other members, and to hold all group meetings, calls, and processes in confidence. This is the best way to be sure that everyone feels comfortable participating.
Group will meet at 2pm Eastern (that’s 1pm Central, 12pm Mountain, 11am Pacific) from January-April 2008, as follows:
Jan 18, 25
Feb 8, 15, 29
Mar 7, 14, 28
Apr 4, 11
We will meet on a conference line or through Skype. I may add a webinar component to some of the meetings, in order to better demonstrate some concepts. To participate in both the conference calls and the webinars, you will need a land-line telephone and an internet connected computer. More details will be provided as needed. The technology is easy to use and works on both PC and Mac.
Cost will be $250.00 per person per month, payable at the start of each month. Accepted forms of payment will be Visa, Mastercard, American Express.
You may withdraw from the group at any time, without penalty. However, if the group is helpful to you, please be willing to commit to the entire group process so that you can get your proposal entirely drafted within this time frame.
In addition to the regular meeting times, there will be call in days for 1:1 coaching as needed. These are optional, but can be useful if you are stuck and need some help.
Once you enroll, you will be given access to a special group coaching site where you can access additional materials. This site will also have a forum where you can post questions and get additional support from your group members.
There is a two-session money back guarantee. You can enroll, attend the first two meetings, and if you decide the program isn’t right for you, simply contact me and your first month’s payment will be refunded back to your credit card. There will be no refunds after the first month, but, as I said, you can withdraw from the program at any time and you won’t be charged going forward.
The goal of this program will be to help you draft your entire quantitative dissertation proposal by April 20, 2008. This is the typical "3 chapter" format, consisting of Introduction, Literature Review, and Methodology chapters. Your actual project may vary from this model, but you’ll still benefit from the structure and focus of the group. In order to accomplish this goal, you’ll need to enroll by January 11, 2008.
Space is limited and the enrollments will stop being accepted once 10 people have signed up.
I really want to work with people who are open, eager, and motivated to finish.
I think I’ve covered everything, but if you have questions, don’t hesitate to email me: info (AT) completeyourdissertation.com
