Dr. Catherine B. Haskins, Associate Coach

Dr. Catherine B. Haskins holds a doctorate in economics from the University of Massachusetts. She completed her dissertation while working full-time, and as the married mother of a young child. In addition to her doctoral degree, she completed her undergraduate work in Russian at Harvard University in 1986 and her Masters in Social Work at Boston University in 1993. Catherine brings several significant strengths to the dissertation coaching process. First, she is a recent Ph.D. graduate, so remembers very well the stress and anxiety of the process.

She utilized dissertation coaching regularly and actively throughout her own dissertation writing experience, and is a strong example of the benefits of this type of coaching process. Catherine’s coaching skills come not only from her clinical social work and case management background, but also from two decades of successful unpaid mentoring work in recovering communities. A good listener, with a warm and empathic style, she brings enthusiasm and personal experience to her work with clients.
