New ideas in leads to new ideas out.
If you’re feeling like your creativity could use a boost, consider the idea that new ideas in can lead to new ideas out. If you are feeling stuck in some part of your dissertation process, it might be because you haven’t yet considered a wide enough variety of sources. If you’ve been reading many journal articles, for instance, you might try reading social or political commentaries on your subject. If you haven’t talked to key people in your field, consider contacting them (if possible). Do what you can to keep new sources and different viewpoints flowing in at a comfortable pace. This can keep your enthusiasm and creativity high.
